A. Any qualified voter may sign a petition addressed in this chapter.

B. A person signing any name other than his or her own to a petition, except in a circumstance where he or she signs for a person, in the presence of and at the specific request of such person, who is incapable of signing his or her own name, because of physical infirmity or knowingly signing his or her name more than once for the same measure, at one election, or who is not at the time of signing a qualified voter, or any officer or person willfully violating any provision of this chapter, shall be subject to the maximum penalties allowed by federal law. Any signature obtained in violation of this chapter shall be void and shall not be counted in determining the legal sufficiency of the petition. ONCA 17-107, eff. Oct. 4, 2017.
