A person filing a petition who, at the time of filing the petition, knows it is falsely made, or who knowingly destroys or suppresses a petition, or any part thereof, which has been duly filed with the Office as provided by this chapter is guilty of a criminal offense punishable by the maximum penalties allowed by federal law.
