A. Pursuant to Article XV, Section 5 of the Osage Nation Constitution, the legislature of the Osage Nation shall provide for the utilization, development and conservation of all natural resources within the territory of the Osage Nation for the maximum benefit of the Osage people.

B. The Osage Nation Constitution further states in Article XV, Section 5, hunting and fishing and the taking of game and fish are a valued part of the Nation’s heritage and shall forever be preserved for the Osage people through Osage law and regulation for the public good.

C. The purpose of this Act is to provide for the conservation and management of wildlife, to require licenses and permits for hunting and fishing, to establish wildlife offenses, and to provide for civil and criminal penalties for violations of law. ONCA 17-30, eff. Apr. 26, 2017.
