It is the policy of the Osage Nation to respect the civil rights of Osage people set forth in the Osage Constitution. Article II of the Osage Constitution by reference, incorporated and adopted the federal Indian Civil Rights Act of 1968, 25 U.S.C. § 1302, to apply to all Osages. Therefore, the Constitution of the Osage Nation provides that the principles of free speech and free press, the rights of the people to assemble and petition for redress of grievances shall not be abridged.
