Where not otherwise specifically provided, whenever the Osage Constitution or law requires an act to be accomplished within a set number of days the following rules for calculating the time shall apply:

A. When the time is less than eleven (11) days, the day after the receipt or commencement of the action shall be Day One. Saturdays, Sundays, holidays observed by the Osage Nation government and other days when the official recipient’s offices are not open for business until at least 4:30 p.m. shall not be included in the calculation of the period of time.

B. When Congress is in session, Saturdays are included in the calculation of time for purposes of session day calculation, bill presentation, veto presentation, and other requirements attendant to bill and resolution enactment. The last three days of a legislative session, regular or special, shall be the day of final session adjournment and the two legislative days immediately prior to session adjournment, without regard to any session extension.

C. When the time is more than eleven (11) days, the day after the receipt or commencement of the action shall be Day One. Saturdays, Sundays, holidays observed by the Osage Nation government and other days when the official recipient’s offices are not open for business until at least 4:30 p.m. shall be included in the calculation of the period of time, unless it falls on the final day of the calculation of the period of time.

D. The final day shall be included in the calculation of the period of time and end at 4:30 p.m. Central Time, unless the final day falls on a Saturday, Sunday, holiday observed by the Osage Nation government or any other day when the official recipient’s offices are not open for business until at least 4:30 p.m., in which event the period of time runs until 4:30 p.m. of the next day which is not a Saturday, Sunday, holiday observed by the Osage Nation government or any other day when the official recipient’s offices are not open for business until at least 4:30 p.m.

E. Each entity that is charged with accepting documents subject to time receipt shall ensure that a representative or designee is available during the business hours of the normal operating business days of the Osage Nation government to receive documents until 4:30 p.m. unless unforeseen circumstance or bad weather does not permit it.
