A. The Osage Nation Constitution at Article VI, Section 7, states the annual salary and expense allowance for the members of the legislature shall be fixed at the first session of the legislature after the Osage Nation Constitution takes effect. It further allows that presiding officers may received increased compensation for their duties, and that compensation may be increased or decreased by law from time to time thereafter, to take effect the legislative year following the next general election.

B. The Osage Nation Constitution at Article VII states the annual salary and expense allowance for the Office of Principal Chief and Assistant Principal Chief shall be prescribed by Osage law and shall not be increased nor diminished during the term of office.

C. Article VIII, Section 10, states that Supreme Court Justices and Trial Court Judges shall be reasonably compensated, and that changes in compensation shall not increase or decrease until the next general election or the appointment to office.

D. The purpose of this Act is to set the salary and expense allowance for the Principal Chief, Assistant Principal Chief, Presiding Officers and Members of Congress, and Justices and Chief Trial Judge of the Osage Nation beginning July 2, 2014. ONCA 14-39, eff. May 30, 2014.
