A. The Attorney General shall be appointed by the Principal Chief under Article VII, Section 15, of the Constitution of the Osage Nation, with the advice and consent of the Osage Nation Congress. The Attorney General, so appointed and confirmed, shall serve for a four-year term beginning upon the effective date of this Act 1 and shall continue in office, beyond the appointed term, until a successor is appointed and confirmed. An Attorney General may serve multiple terms without term limits. To be eligible for the office of Attorney General, the applicant must:

1. Be a member of a federally recognized American Indian Tribe or Tribal Nation;

2. Have reached thirty (30) years of age;

3. Be a licensed attorney in good standing in the State of Oklahoma, be eligible for admittance and become admitted to practice in the federal District Courts of Oklahoma and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, and willing to become a member of the Osage Nation Bar Association upon taking the oath of office in accordance with Article IX of the Osage Nation Constitution.

B. The Attorney General shall devote his or her entire time to the duties of Attorney General and shall not, while in office, engage in the private practice of law. The Attorney General shall receive such salary as shall be set by the Executive Branch, and appropriated by the Osage Nation Congress. ONCA 11-65, eff. Sept. 29, 2011.
