The Chief Justice of the Osage Nation may, when a vacancy occurs, and in the public interest, temporarily appoint a qualified judge, or an attorney with at least three years of legal experience, to act as an Associate Justice of the Osage Nation Supreme Court, or to act as Chief Trial Court Judge, until the vacancy is filled pursuant to the Osage Nation Constitution.
