§ 5-104. Civil nature of code.

A. This code is civil in nature and does not affect any applicable provisions of the Osage Nation criminal code1 unless modified specifically by this code.
B. The code may also be applied to any adult citizen of the Osage Nation should circumstances warrant, as defined by this code. Any section or portion thereof containing the word “elder” may be liberally construed to include and mean “or other adult.”
