§ 10-102. Findings and purpose.
A. According to the Oklahoma Policy Institute on May 2, 2019, “Oklahoma women can expect to earn $0.73 cents for every dollar paid to men, with an even wider gap for women of color.”
B. According to the National Indian Council on Aging, Inc., “American Indian women earn approximately $0.57 cents on the dollar of white, non-Hispanic men” based on 2019 data.
C. United States Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland contributed to an article in late 2019 as the then U.S. Congresswoman from New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District. The Secretary cited a study from the National Partnership for Women and Families and stated, “The fact that Native women only make $0.58 cents on the dollar compared to white men in similar positions is absolutely unacceptable.” ONCA 23-93, eff.
