A. Additional higher-level duties/responsibilities” means temporary responsibilities that include (1) duties which are those of a different position, or not reflected in the current position description, (2) are not included in an updated position description, or (3) constitute, or are reasonably expected to constitute, more than fifty percent (50%) of the employee’s total responsibilities.

B. Base rate of pay” means the rate of compensation an employee receives in exchange for services, not to include benefits or bonuses.

C. Base rate of pay adjustments” means an increase or decrease to the base rate of pay of an employee.

D. External compensation inequities” means when an employee’s salary is significantly below that of others in the same position with similar duties and requirements at other similar employers within a one hundred fifty (150) mile radius.

E. Financial recognition” means monetary awards given to an employee(s) to reward performance or incentivize. Examples include bonuses, gift cards, gift certificates, and paid leave.

F. Inflation adjustments” means an increase to a merited employee’s base salary.

G. Internal compensation inequity” means when an employee’s salary is significantly below that of others in the same position within the Nation with similar performance, experience, skills, knowledge and assignments.

H. Position/job description” means a written document outlining the qualifications and duties of a specified position.

I. Salary range/pay range” means the amount of compensation paid for a specific position that includes a minimum, median, and maximum amount. ONCA 20-25, eff. Apr. 27, 2020.
