If it appears that any child being held in detention or a shelter may be mentally ill, developmentally disabled, or has sustained any trauma which may result in a delayed medical danger or injury, the Court shall place the child in a designated facility approved by the Indian Child Welfare Department for seventy-two (72) hours for treatment and evaluation. Upon the advice of a physician the treatment and evaluation period may be extended for a period not exceeding ten (10) days.
