No driver shall permit passengers to ride on the fenders, bumpers, running boards or anywhere outside the interior passenger areas of the vehicle nor shall any passenger ride on the fenders, bumpers, running boards or anywhere outside the interior passenger areas of the vehicle. It shall be an exception to this section when the action is done as part of an occupational requirement not otherwise in violation of the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act, Pub. L. 91-596, 84 Stat. 1590¹. Any person who violates this section will be charged with an infraction and pay a fine not to exceed One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00).
