A. There is hereby established in the Treasury a revolving fund for the storm shelter assistance, not subject to fiscal year limitations, for the purpose of assisting members of the Osage Nation and their families with the purchase and installation of a storm shelter or safe room.

B. The fund established by this section shall be designated the “Storm Shelter Assistance Fund.”

C. The assets of the Storm Shelter Assistance Fund shall consist of monies appropriated to it by act of Congress and donations.

D. Expenditures out of the Storm Shelter Assistance Fund shall be limited up to Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) per adult member of the Osage Nation for the total purchase, rehabilitation of existing shelters and installation cost of a storm shelter or safe room.

1. Applicant members of the Osage Nation may submit applications for the benefit to be paid in advance of the purchase and installation of a storm shelter or safe room.

E. The Storm Shelter Assistance Fund benefit is limited to homeowners.

F. Only one storm shelter benefit from the Storm Shelter Assistance Fund shall be awarded to each physical address unless the property ownership has changed and the new owner as a member of the Osage Nation can prove that the previous storm shelter or safe room has been removed from the property.

G. Members of the Osage Nation having received assistance from the Storm Shelter Assistance Fund shall be required to submit proof of the storm shelter or safe room installation.

H. The Storm Shelter Assistance Fund shall exist until the fund is terminated by act of the Osage Nation Congress. ONCA 22-77, eff. May 17, 2024.
