Part 7 PUBLIC PURPOSE CORPORATION

A. The Osage Nation, acting by and through its Principal Chief and Congress, may designate a nonprofit corporation formed under this Code by the Osage Nation to advance the needs and interests of the Osage Nation, its members and their families regarding health, education, welfare, economic opportunity and reduction of governmental burdens (each a “public purpose”) as a “public purpose corporation” in an applicable code, other legislation or a joint action resolution. This part shall apply only to corporations so designed as a public purpose corporation by the Nation, and only public purpose corporations enjoy the benefits and are subject to the requirements and limitations described in this part.

B. The initial Board of Directors and any vacancies that arise for such public purpose corporations may be filled by the Principal Chief, subject to confirmation at the next regular session of the Osage Congress. ONCA 21-27, eff. Apr. 6, 2021.
